How you take it: One shot under the skin once a week, on the same day each week, from a pen you keep in the refrigerator.
Before your first dose
- A check that you do not have an infection right now.
- Your vaccines brought up to date. Live vaccines, such as MMR or chickenpox, need to be done at least 30 days before your first shot.
- Your doctor's office sends a form to Tru Support, the drugmaker's support program. You sign it too.
- Your insurance approves the medicine. Tru Support helps your doctor's office with what your plan asks for.
- A specialty pharmacy must talk with you before it can ship, so answer calls from numbers you do not know that week. A nurse can teach you how to give the shot.
